Introducing CastReady A casting assistant by Nick Gregan

See Yourself Through
Casting Directors' Eyes.

Most actors are not struggling because of talent. They struggle because casting directors cannot place them quickly. CastReady helps uncover what your headshots may already be communicating.

Why actors struggle

Most actors don't need better acting.
They need greater clarity.

Three voices we hear, almost every week.

Voice 01

My headshots look good but I'm not getting auditions.

Voice 02

I don't know my casting clarity.

Voice 03

I feel like I'm sending mixed signals.

How CastReady works

Four small steps.

A considered process - never a rushed one.

01

Upload your images.

Three to five headshots you currently use - agency images, self-tape stills, or recent shoots. Privately uploaded, never shared.

What CastReady analyses

Eight signals.

Read together, they describe how casting directors may already see you.

01

Eye Connection

How directly - and warmly - your gaze meets the lens.

02

Personality

The temperament the image communicates at first glance.

03

Background

Whether your setting frames you, or competes for attention.

04

Castability

How quickly a director can place you in a role they're hiring for.

05

Emotional Read

The feeling the image leaves - half a second after it's seen.

06

Confidence Signals

Posture, jaw, presence - the quiet body language of certainty.

07

Wardrobe

Whether your clothing supports - or distracts from - your read.

08

Casting Clarity

The single, considered story your images tell - together.

An example reading

A quiet, useful page.

Not a verdict. A direction - written for you.

Strengths
  • Eye contact reads as warm, considered.
  • Wardrobe supports a grounded, professional read.
  • Background remains quiet - you stay the subject.
Areas to develop
  • Jawline tension softens your "authority" read.
  • Two of three images send the same emotional note.
  • Wider tonal range would broaden your casting bracket.
Suggested next steps

Keep image 02 as your lead headshot. Retire image 03 - it overlaps with 02. Reshoot a softer, warmer third look to widen your range without diluting your read.

Selected portraits

A quiet range.

behind the lens.

For over 30 years, Nick Gregan has photographed thousands of actors - uncovering confidence and clarity behind the lens.

CastReady combines that human headshot psychology with AI guidance. It is not a replacement for a photographer or an agent. It is a quieter, earlier conversation - one that helps you arrive at your next shoot, your next agent meeting, your next self-tape, with greater clarity.

What actors say
after their reading.

Early users on what CastReady showed them.

I just tried CastReady and WOW - so accurate it was scary! The assessment gave me some great ideas for things to say to describe myself for an audition, some phrases I'd never thought of before. It also gave me a shot of confidence - the descriptions were positive ways of putting into words what I see every day in the mirror but don't necessarily see as an asset. Thank you so much.

Your AI tool is very efficient and useful. I like the options it gives at the beginning - and it helped me decide which headshots to use!
AmyActor
I found CastReady incredibly useful. It confirmed some things I'd suspected about my casting type and highlighted others I'd completely missed. The headshot comparison was especially helpful and made choosing between images much easier. It's like getting an honest outside opinion without having to ask ten different people!

Questions actors ask

Plainly answered.

Is CastReady replacing my photographer?
No. CastReady is a conversation that happens before - or between - shoots. It helps you understand what your current images say so your next session can be sharper, more intentional, and more useful to your career.
What images should I upload?
Three to five of your current headshots - the ones you actually send to agents or use on casting sites. Recent self-tape stills and agency images both work. We'll guide you through it.
How private is my analysis?
Your uploads and your reading are visible only to you. We do not share images, sell data, or use your headshots to train other models.
Will an AI judge me unfairly?
CastReady is built around Nick's eye, not a generic beauty model. It doesn't score how you look - it describes how casting directors are likely to place you, and where your images may be sending mixed signals.
Is this useful if I'm already represented?
Yes. Many represented actors find their headshots are doing only half the work they could. CastReady gives you the language to have a clearer conversation with your agent - and your photographer - about what to update.
What happens after I sign up?
You'll receive a short note from Nick, then access to the CastReady AI analysis. From there, depending on what's useful, you can explore the Awesome Headshots Blueprint, the Headshot Performance System, or a personal consultation.
